I went to canberra yesturday for the sole purpose of seeing the turner to monet exhibition;.
and to put it honestoly it blew my mind. so many incredible incredible paintings, and by most of the artists that we were studying at school, monet turner, constable, van gough, gaugain. i saw monets painting of the haybales and got a bit teary. an dhis waterlillies were stunning. i highly advise anyone to make the effort to see this exhibition.
also in the gallery was an exhibtion on minimalism and conceptulist art. they had a few andy warhole pieces which was awesome and the had blue poles by jackson pollock! i always hated that painting but seeing it in front of me was incredible.
they also had some of matise's fabric work and an interesting picasso sculpture. and i saw a beautiful peter booth.
wonderful incredible day.
thank you eternally to my grandpa for taking me.
im currently at my old high school being in inspirational speaker for the year 12s. this is really weird but awesome because i can say what i want as i am no longer a student. hopefully encorage a few more crazies for the art world.
this girl is only 16 and she has some of the most incredible photos ive seen. capturing the natural beauty with things created by men, blurring the line between creepy and beautiful, a girl after my own heart.
ive recently noticed her paintings as well, particully a few where she ahs been inspired by geishas. i will soon be owning one of these pieces. but check her out say hi, shes an incredible girl and an incredible artist.
i have this incredible place where i have taken alot of my photos in called the vampyre hotel. and these guys found my hotel a week ago and re named it the murder shack. and i found out. im like dude!! its the vampyre hotel. well this quickly escaleted (i dont care if thats spelt wrong) into a fight and im like dammit ITS VAMPYRE HOTEL!! and theyre saying thats a lame name and im like what do you think murder shack is, fuck. i know this is trivial but its my thing. and the guy says this is why we cant call it vampyre hotel, and he showed me a video going on about how much im going to laugh. it was a video of some goth kid talking about nothing really. and he goes that explains it all. and im thnking why the fuck would you show me a video of a goth kid and expect that to be funny??!! i found it first. ive drawn in there ive painted in there, ive photographed it and had models in it, for seperate shots. ive even done nude photography in it. THE VAMPYRE HOTEL is definatly mine.
i have been offered a job at the Melbourne fashion show in 2009. As a photographer and hair design for the catwalk. I used to work for a hairdresser in Shepparton. I was head hunted becuase i started to do peoples hair for free and he was loosing business. i worked for him for a few weeks but i didnt want to quit school and be a hairdresser forever. He approached me in a pub on saturday and said that he is going to the Sydney fashion show this week and he heard i was doing art. Hes seen alot of my hair design and he said he really likes weird people who think different to everyone else. In his words, i want a fucked up desgner. such a compliment lol. So that is how i landed an awesome job. I may be modeling as well which would be cool. Ive done catwalks before modelling alternative fashion but i think hair will be completely different. Not exactly the occupation id choose but it is an incredible oppertunity and other things could lead out of it.
Very excited.

I saw a really interesting feature on the ABC. about a differnt artist, unfortuanely i cannot remember his name but he creates some beautiful things.
It reminded me alot of some of the things that weve been talking about in our lecturers at school. When industrialisation was coming in some artists rebelled and went back to creating things in traditional crafts.
One of my favourite pieces that he made was a crane and some other heavy machinery, completely made out of pieces of metal in the shape of gothic architecture such as cathedrals. The beautiful facades and widows all places together to create this ever day piece of machinery.
He also made a cement mixer out of beautiful mahogany with incredible gold detailing. They appeared to me that they were showing industrialisation except made out of more traditional crafts.
The main feature was this incredible functional sculpture that took up about 3 stories in a building. It mimicked the human digestive system. Pretty Much you put foor in the top and crap comes out the bottom. The crap selling for thousands of dollars as indervidual sculptures.
I was more interested in his other works but everyone was ranting about this one piece, but hey, thats modern art for you.
Today in Geelong the weather was incredible. Pretty much the main reason why i moved here was because i heard that it always rained in Geelong. Unfortunately this turned out to be false. Severlly dissapointing myself and my friend qho also moved to geelong. nice and stormy, gloomy and cold. love it. also it helps that i have a jacket fetish. I miss my straight jacket, i regret selling you :(

my newest painting for school, based on the legend of Elizabeth Bathory, the blood countess. I wanted some feedback on what to do with her face. I added in the eyes etc. but i didnt like them so i blacked them out or blued them out to be more specific, im thinking of adding darker blue shading around where her eyes would be just as a suggestion of eyes, let me know.
thanks vincent

THE REVOLUTION IS NEVER COMING.
and you too can stop the truth from leaking.
Forever waiting for something new to happen but the trajic truth is that there hasnt been anything increible for quite some time. sure we can get moving tattoos and mobile phones imbedded in our arms but in the end, who really cares. Technology keeps changing and getting 'better' but i wish people would change. Instead of creating something new to dangle off your ear that whispers the time to you every few minutes create something different that will impact you and the world around you, belive me we need it. There hasnt been anything 'new'in any scene for quite some time, music, arts, writings. none. im praying for the revolution.
